Snowdonia has a long coastline of superb golden beaches, with sweeping sands, wooded estuarys, rugged cliffs and solitary coves.

Aberdovey - or Aberdyfi, a small harbour resort on the Dyfi estuary, has a sandy beach. Promenade, pier, first aid centre and slipway enabling disabled access. Car park, toilets. Pleasant town with many facilities.



Barmouth - or Abermaw, excellent sandy beach which stretches for 2 miles from the harbour. Fun fair from March - October and arcades. The town offers a range of facilities, shops, pubs and various accomodation.



Black Rock Sands 2 miles from Porthmadog. 2 mile sandy beach with dunes which are designated an area of Special Scientific Interest. Cars are allowed on the beach. Cafe, toilets.



Criccieth - rocky beach, which becomes shingle and finally sand. Promenade and slipway enabling disabled access. No lifeguard. Car park, toilets. Attractive small town with medieval castle.



Fairbourne - situated on the Mawddach estuary, golden white sands, disabled access, parking, dogs allowed. Fairbourne is a pleasant seaside village, the nearest town is Barmouth.



Harlech - Good sandy beach with dunes. Shops, toilets, disabled access, car park. The attractive town of Harlech offers a range of facilities as well as medieval Harlech Castle. Public swimming pool for when weather is bad.



Llandudno - a very popular resort. North Shore is the principal beach which consists of shingle, West Shore is a quieter sandy beach facing into Conway Bay. Long pier and promenade, shops, cafes, disabled access and deckchair hire. The town offers a wide range of facilities.



Penmaenmawr - has a long sandy beach and attractive promenade which looks out onto Menai Straits, beach cafe, paddling pool, play area, beach huts and arcades. First aid post, cafe, toilets and car park.



Traeth Beach Tidal sandy estuary, with views of Mount Snowdon. Peaceful position opposite Italianate village of Portmeirion. Popular with birdwatchers. Cars allowed on the beach. Cafe, toilets.



Tywyn - has a sandy beach which is popular with surfers. Excellent views over Cardigan Bay, dolphins can sometimes be seen. Paddling pool, first aid post, cafe, toilets and parking.
