Beyond Beddgelert the River Glaslyn winds through the dramatic and scenic rocky pass of Aberglaslyn, which has graced more calendars than any other place in Wales.

At its narrowest point the road and the river are hemmed in by steeply ascending wooded hillsides which rise sharply to around 700 feet.

Where the valley widens a lay-by is provided. A path runs along the east side of the ravine, from Beddgelert to Pont Aberglaslyn, but can be difficult to traverse in parts.
